Weather Keeps Fleet Waiting

Fleet struggled to get going early on, conceeding a string of early corners, Thame needed half a dozen before they got the delivery right to find McGowan waiting near the middle of the goal to head home. Both sides went into this match looking to extend their good form and the early exchanges showed two evenly matched sides trying a little too hard, not keeping the ball under control and giving possession away. The game was 12 minutes old before one side caused any real danger in the box, when Patrik Ruzicka got the ball into Luke Haskell, whose cross ran to a Kempston foot to clear.
