Fleet Town 1 Yate Town 1
A second half comeback by the visitors saw Yate force a Replay.
It was ten minutes before the first clear opening, when a long ball from the back by the visitors, over the top of the Fleet back line was collected by Brooks, who got into the box before Castano got back to him to challenge and clear the danger. Five minutes later it was Bryan with the chance for the visitors but under pressure from two defenders he could only shoot wide. Midway through the half, one of the best moves saw a flowing attack from Fleet, started by Ruzicka in midfield through Bunyan and Pekun, before being brought to an abrupt stop with a poor tackle, the free kick on the edge of the box got blocked by the wall. The visitors had chances from Brooks and direct from a free kick by Ebbutt, both efforts going wide of the goal. With Fleet finding their way through better, the pressure told and a foul in the box led to the award of a Penalty to Fleet, which was calmly converted by Patrik Ruzicka. Moments later a move through Pekun, Bunyan and Ruzicka was stopped when Patrik was brought down, he fell inside the box, but this time the officials only gave a free kick right on the white line at the side of the box, a great free kick fro Danilo was lifted over the wall but came down on the roof of the net.
The second half started with a fine save from the visitors keeper Rivers, who tipped over a goal-bound effort from Cadete, although the resultant corner found its way onto a Fleet head this effort was saved by Rivers. The visitors were getting more of the ball, but still struggled to find the target, even from a free kick in the D Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist still fired wide of the goal, but ten minuted later, it was Lewis in the middle of the action, the visitors had the one moment of luck in the game, he ran on to collect a hopeful through ball, his shot was blocked by Beach but the ball ran loose and Lewis got round Beach to get to the ball behind him and slide it into the empty net. After this both side were looking for a possible winner, with an effort from Van Sullivan saved and Danilo coming close for Fleet but the majority of chances were going to Yate, but with Liam in fine form, he was there to deny them time and time again, it was this string of saves that eventually earned Fleet a Replay on Tuesday.
