New Management Team July 2018

Following a very turbulent ‘Close Season’ Fleet Town F.C. have moved to appoint Koo Dumbuya as their new First Team Manager together with his assistant Sam Waters.

Both Koo and Sam are locally based and ex players of Fleet Town.

47 year old Koo is a qualified UEFA A Licensed coach with  extensive experience

which includes Management and Coaching stints at Reading, Aldershot, Farnborough, Woking, Cove and AFC Wimbledon.

Commenting on his appointment Koo said ‘ I am very excited about this new challenge particularly as I have a special affinity with Fleet Town from the time when I played for them in the early ‘naughties’. We know it is not going to be easy because we are starting from scratch with players and preparation but we are confident that come the start of the season we will be able to put out a competitive Southern League side. Our first aim will be to make sure that we stay away from the relegation zone and then see where that takes us. ‘

29 year old Sam Waters will assist Koo. He is also a qualified UEFA B Licensed coach who was for 2 seasons Academy Manager at Aldershot Town F.C. He has also coached at Premier League side Southampton’s much acclaimed Academy and is currently coaching full time at Queens Park Rangers.

They will be joined by a further two other UEFA B Licensed coaches but are still looking for a qualified Physio, who would be available to travel with the team to our away days in the West Country.

Fleet Town is delighted with the Management Team it has appointed and is confident that the gloom of recent weeks can be put behind them and they can now concentrate on the season ahead.

The Club is keen to create an ethos which is based on developing mostly local players in the early stages of their career who are keen to gain experience at Step 4 and above.

They will of course be supplemented by more experienced players where appropriate to create a successful side capable of taking the Club forward.

The emphasis will be on the quality of Coaching, Player Development and Management.

To this end Fleet Town feels it has  made exactly the right appointments.

The first training session with Koo and Sam will be held at Calthorpe Park this Thursday 12th, any players interested in joining Fleet Town are welcome to come along and introduce themselves to the new Manager, meet at 6.30 for 7pm session.
