Walton Casuals 5 Fleet Town 2

Fleet travelled to Walton Casuals and their lovely 3G pitch for their second friendly of the season. Walton Casuals platy in the same league as Hartley Wintney so it was another step 3 challenge for the Fleet boys.

Walton came out the blocks fast and soon found themselves 2-0 to the good, but to Fleet’s great credit they did not buckle and started to play their way back into the game. Passing the ball well and putting Walton under pressure and not conceding an further goals at half-time. Walton made 11 changes at half time while Fleet waited into the second half to start making changes to their starting eleven.

The second half was a much more even affair and ultimately Walton won it 3-2, but Fleet scored 2 excellent goals through Taylor Watts and finished the game well. The final score of 5-2 probably showed the gap between step 3 and 5 but was a good run out for Fleet as they start to put their squad together for their return to the Wessex Premier League. Onto the next friendly where Fleet are away at near neighbours Cove FC of the Combined Counties Division 1, on Saturday 13th July Kick off 3pm.
