Fareham Town 4 Fleet Town 2

Fleet travelled to a windy Cams Alders in an attempt to win their first league since their return to the Wessex League Premier Division, the afternoon didn’t turn out quite as they had hoped. With Jack Howard returning to centre midfield Fleet had a strong team out. The game started with both teams having possession of the ball, Fleet trying to pass the ball and Fareham playing direct. The first half was even until a Fleet break got the ball to Enow Ojong in the Fareham penalty box, after missing the ball with his right foot he managed to finish well with his left foot. Fareham gained more possession as the half progressed but it seemed that Fleet would have a half-time lead until Bradley Wilson was sin-binned for disagreeing with the referee when he didn’t give him a penalty. With the extra man Fareham pushed on and were given a very soft penalty which they converted for a half-time 1-1 scoreline, Durrell Brown was also booked at this time.

The second half was quite even although Fareham scored three times. The first goal came after Chris Harris made a double save but couldn’t keep the third chance out. A long shot was parried by Chris Harris but still went in. At this time Bradley Wilson pulled Fleet back into the game when he was played through and then chipped the advancing goalkeeper. Fleet had chances at this point, the best of which was a header from Taylor Watts at the back post. A draw was not be when Fareham broke and scored their fourth. To finish the game off the referee decided to send Durrell Brown off for what appeared an innocuous foul, it capped off an all round poor game for the man in black.
