Alresford Town 1 Fleet Town 2

After the great victory against Baffins Milton Rovers on Saturday, Fleet travelled to there nearest neighbours in the league Alresford. After two really tight loses last year Fleet were looking to gain some measure of revenge. Fleet made one change to their team with Dan Dansie coming in in place of Ude Osim.

The game was a typical local derby with both sides battling hard to gain control of the match but with both attempting to play football. Not ever an easy thing to do on a bumpy pitch. Fleet had lots of pressure with corners and throws and were unable to take advantage of this and score. Alresford however did take advantage and took the lead with a great long range shot. Half-time 1-0

Fleet came out in the second half hoping to take advantage of the pressure they had, but things didn’t go to plan when Tom Wensley was given a straight red card. An early substitution was made with Dan Bone coming on for Matty Pearse. Fleet managed to get an equaliser when Leo Decarbo scored. As the game progressed both teams pushed for a winning goal with Fleet defending well. Things changed in Fleet’s favour when Alresford were also reduced to 10 men. The winning goal came when Fleet broke from an Alresford attack. Dan Danie won a tackle in the Fleet box and played a great ball up to Mal Thomas on the half way line. He found Leo Decarbo who played an inch perfect ball for an on running Dan Bone, who slotted the ball past the onrushing Alresford goalkeeper for the winning goal. The video of this goal is available through the Fleet twitter account. Full-Time 1-2
