Ash United 1 Fleet Town 3

Fleet made it two wins out of two with a win at local neighbours Ash United. After the freezing weather at Ascot United last week the sun was a real treat for this 12.30 kick off. The Fleet team showed some changes from the Ascot as they continued to give players a chance to secure a first team spot for next season.

The game started well with both teams trying to play the ball around and break the high lines that were being played. Fleet looked the more threatening and ultimately took the lead after 18 minutes when a break and 1-2 between Ralph Karumazondo and Billy Oram ended up with Ralph placing the ball into the net. Ash came back strongly and put the Fleet defence under a bit of pressure and as the half wore on they equalised. A break (which Fleet were convinced was offside) resulted in a cross being placed into the empty net. Fleet had a number of chances in the second half but were unable to score again. Half-time 1-1

The second half was a very different affair with Fleet keeping possession of the ball and moving the Ash defence around, however they were not really making clear cut chances. As in their first game Fleet made all their substitutions in the second half and one of these was involved in Fleet’s next goal. A Leo Decarbo corner was attacked by Steve Lee and the ball ended up in the net via an Ash defender. Fleet’s third goal was a close range tap in from Matty Pearse after a great run and cross down the left wing from Billy Oram. Full-time 1-3
