Fleet Town 0 Fareham Town 3

So Fareham completed a league double over Fleet Town on Saturday. After a run of 4 unbeaten games things came to an end at Calthorpe Park where a lacklustre display was pounced on by a good Fareham team.

The first half started in the worst possible way when September’s player of the month Taylor Watts had to go off after 2 minutes with a pulled hamstring. This injury is likely to keep Taylor out of the team for about a month. There was a dearth of good football in the first half although Fareham did manage to hit the post early and then took the lead as the half wore on. Fleet only had brief attacks that didn’t really trouble the Fareham net. Half-time 0-1

Unfortunately the second half carried on in the same vein with Fareham dominating play and adding two more goals to their lead. One of the few bright spots for Fleet was the debut of new full-back James Smith. A bad day at the office for Fleet, and another tough game on Saturday away at second placed side AFC Porchester.
