Fleet Town 2 Alresford Town 3

A strong and powerful Alresford Town side managed to gain a 3-2 victory over Fleet Town. After the entertaining first half at Bashley on Saturday Fleet fans were hoping for more of the same, unfortunately the game never really started in that way. Fleet took some time to get into the game and found themselves 2-0 within 30 minutes. Alresford took the lead when a through ball played experienced striker Craig McAllister through and he was able to lift the ball over an advancing Luke Williams. If that wasn’t bad enough for Fleet Alresford doubled their lead when Craig Harding headed in unmarked at the far post after a corner. As half-time approached Fleet started to get into the game but still went in 2-0 down.

After some feedback from the management team at half-time Fleet came out looking like a different team and played the ball with pace and speed and soon had results for their good play. Within the first couple of minutes of the second half Bradley Wilson was played through by Billy Oram and managed to poke the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner. This goal spurred Fleet on and within 5 minutes Aaron Redford was brought down in the box for a penalty. Bradley Wilson stepped up and confidently played the ball into the corner to bring Fleet back to 2-2. Spurred on by the Fleet Massiv, it looked like only one team would go on to win, unfortunately things didn’t go to plan. Durrell Brown had to leave the pitch injured and within 2 minutes of this re-organisation Alresford were back in front. A quick break was finished off well by former Fleet Town player George Hallahan. As much as Fleet pushed on after the goal they couldn’t find a way through a solid Alresford back line.

There were good signs for Fleet in some of their play and it most only be a matter of time until Fleet pickup their first 3 points of the season.
