Russell Cotes Cup

On Tuesday night Fleet Town edged past their lower league opposition, Romsey Town by the narrowest of scorelines, 1-0, the goal coming after just 15 minutes when Mesach Williams head met a deep cross from Daniel Framp. It was only several good saves by both keepers that kept the score down, Brendan Norris, for Fleet Town back between the sticks following his injury lay off and Charlie Philpott for the visitors produced the ebst save when he stuck out a leg to stop a goal bound effort from Layton Avenell.

Fleet’s “reward” for this vistory is an away tie in the quarter finals to Lymington Town, on a Tuesday night in January.
