Tadley Calleva 0 Fleet Town 2

On a cold and frosty night Fleet battled back to winning ways. In what wasn’t a stunning game of football Fleet battled well against a tough Tadley team. Fleet made a number of changes of both players and positions after the defeat in the rain at Portchester on Saturday.

The game started with Fleet and Tadley exchanging possession and no one really keeping hold of it for long. For both sides the final pass or cross was really letting them down with chances only really coming from dead ball situations. Aiden Upward made a couple of good saves from headers at corners and dealt well with most things that were thrown at him. Some considered Fleet Striker Paul Coventry to be lucky to stay on the pitch after a late tackle on one of the Tadley centre backs. Half-time 0-0

The second half was barely 2 minutes old when Fleet took the lead in stunning fashion. Bradley Wilson broke down the left wing and his deep cross was met sweetly on the volley by James Smith who blasted it into the top corner. Although Tadley continued to press their final pass was not any better then in the first half. Fleet really should have extended their lead, Cavan Atkinson hit the post with a header and a number of players either missed chances or had the keeper save them. Fleet final extended their lead when Bradley Wilson was played clean through, although his shot was saved the ball found its way to Aaron Redford who finished via a deflection. The last action of the game was when a Tadley player was sent off for pushing Bradley Wilson over. So three points in the bank and something to build on for the next games.
